Scott McTominay has revealed his Napoli desire as the Scotland star namechecked two football icons he looked up to as a youngster.
The former Manchester United midfielder has been earning rave reviews in Serie A since his summer switch and showed his importance to his team once more as he bagged a double in the 3-0 win over Empoli to keep pace with leaders Inter Milan at the league summit as the title race looks set to go to the wire.
McTominay decided enough was enough in the summer and it was time to get out of his comfort zone in Manchester for a new life in Naples - a move that has taken his game to a whole new level as he continues to flourish at the iconic side.
His strong character has been evident in Steve Clarke's national team set up and he's determined to be that guy that delivers league title glory to the Napoli support. It is something he feels he NEEDS in his career as well as he bids to give his all and have no regrets come the end of the campaign.
McTominay - now on eight league goals - watched Zinedine Zidane and Wayne Rooney growing up as his two football idols. He's looked to emulate key traits in their game into his own make-up as he continues ot go from strength to strength.

Speaking on show titled 'Living the Dream in Naples' - an episode produced the the official Serie A channel - he said: "You grow up when you leave a comfort zone. So my comfort zone was obviously in Manchester.
"I've been there my whole life. I spent the majority of my time in Manchester and if you can take that step and leave your comfort zone you begin to flourish more as a person and as a football player.
"As I kid I grew up watching players like Zinedine Zidane and Wayne Rooney. Watching them very closely and try to emulate them as much as possible.
"Every time I came on to the pitch I wanted to be similar to them and have characteristics I could emulate in my game as well.

"Almost every match that we go to when we see the fans after and before the game it raises you up as well. It brings that fire out inside of you that every single footballer should have in side of them to perform at their best level at all times.
"What I want to give for the people here is a championship. That is the most important thing that I feel I need in my career as well. I think about it all the time.
"I want to be the guy that takes us there and does my absolute best to push us in the right direction by giving everything on the pitch and having no regrets come the end of the season. "
